Caspar Lurvink was one of the top performers in Season 1 of the Dubai One Loft Pigeon Race and has confirmed his participation in season 2.
Central to Lurvink’s success over the years is his prized stock cock, De Genaaide. Born in 2003, De Genaaide was a remarkable pigeon whose influence on Lurvink’s breeding program remains profound. This strong cock, who passed away in 2023, was gifted to Lurvink by Gertie De Vos of Enschede, a respected fancier in the pigeon racing community. De Genaaide’s bloodline is integral to many of Lurvink’s OLR pigeons. One of De Genaaide’s most notable offspring is his son, the 775 cock, who won 1st Nat Blois in 2010.
Over the years, Lurvink has benefited from the generosity of local pigeon fanciers who have contributed quality pigeons to his loft. His collaboration with Andre De Vries from Losser, an expert in racing pigeons, has been particularly influential.
Lurvink began his pigeon racing journey in 2011 with limited knowledge but a strong passion for the sport. Through dedication and the support of experienced fanciers, he quickly advanced in the field.
