Dubai One Loft Pigeon Race – World Championship Pigeon Sprint Racing
More than 1300 pigeons were released on Monday, January 20 with a tailwind coming from the West-north west.
It was a good race with the first group arriving straight from the release point. The next groups came a bit later from the East side of the loft driven by the wind. It was the first time the pigeons had a strong wind and it seemed they enjoyed it.
A dark blue checker from Al Hazm loft in Qatar won the race. This pigeon was bred from the strains of Ype Hemstra, one of our participants. Second place was won by Mümin & Efe Karaca 1 one of the new top lofts in Türkiye. The pigeon has a great pedigree with the blood of PIPA Elite Center and Bart Geerinckx, two other participants in our race. The 3rd prize went to Team KMS of the Netherlands, while 4th place went to Tom Van Gaver from Belgium, one of the best fanciers in the world, and 5th place to Sacha Assman with one of the best pigeons in the race.
On Saturday we race with the yearlings born in 2023 with the club for a distance of 400 km. In the last race, only 1/5th of the 1500 pigeons arrived the same day, demonstrating again the challenging conditions in the Dubai Desert. On Monday we have a new race for the youngsters of 200km, subject to weather conditions. All races are broadcasted live on our Facebook page.
